SchoolView Application a Finalist For Adobe MAX Education Award
Colorado Department of Education Teams Up With Universal Mind To Create SchoolView, Engages Colorado Educators and Parents
DENVER, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ — Universal Mind announced today that it is named a finalist for the Adobe MAX education award for its work with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Center for Assessment on SchoolView™ and the Colorado Growth Model, a data visualization application that provides measures of student growth and achievement for all schools and students across the state. Based on Adobe Flex and AIR, SchoolView is capable of easily showing educators, administrators and parents historical education performance data and providing a revealing and highly engaging, new way to look and converse about student and school outcomes.
The annual Adobe MAX Awards recognize the best uses of Adobe software for creating engaging experiences. SchoolView is one of four finalists in the Education category. Public voting begins Monday, September 28 at http://max.adobe.com/awards/finalists. Voting is open until Tuesday, October 6 and winners will be announced live at the event, the same day.

Utilizing the Colorado Growth Model, SchoolView provides Colorado Student Assessment Program performance data from all of Colorado’s 178 districts and more than 1,800 schools. Users are able to filter the data by school, location, content area, or type of school enabling powerful comparisons that foster important conversations about student performance and its relation to school quality. The SchoolView program’s browser-based and AIR applications were built using Adobe Flex and data is served to the browser-based application via BlazeDS. Other Adobe technology used within SchoolView includes PDF, for individual student reports, and CS4 for the application skin.
