Information Architect / Usability Designer
You are an information architect - and a web usability designer. Your specialty is rich Internet applications. You deliver the Holy Grail of today's tech-savvy web-enabled enterprise. That's cool looking web design combined with robust system functionality. Great user experiences that deliver real strategic business value.
Where others see business requirements you see online success stories that haven't happened yet - the look and feel, the workflows and data flows, the storyboards and components - and how they all fit together seamlessly within a coherent development plan ultimately to become a unified business platform on which to enable a process.
You see what applications look like before they're built - and how they will perform. You have the skills to convey your vision successfully to the executive team who will fund it - and the development team who will build it.
Forget about online brochures. You bring entire companies into the online environment. These are true enterprise class systems that leverage the web's reach, scalability, and ease of use.
If you're this person you'll have a great portfolio. You'll easily demonstrate great Photoshop and/or Fireworks skills. You'll understand the roles, and can collaborate with, other team members like technical architects and business analysts. When you propose a solution, you'll know what's hard and what's easy to do in Flex and Flash. You'll be able to storyboard it, cut the storyboard, and give your developers the assets they need.
And if you are this person, here's what we want you to do:
- First, be the information architect and usability designer on Universal Mind client projects.
- Second, create a center of excellence within your combined areas of competency to serve as a resource to Universal Mind clients and staff.
- Third, build and lead a team of information architects and usability design professionals who, like you, are best in class.
One more thing: We don't care where you live. Just be willing to travel to clients for portions of projects. Most often, you'll collaborate with others over the phone and online using tools like Adobe Connect. But be prepared for some dynamic interaction. We feel passionate about what we do. And we expect you will too.
