Adnaan Ahmad, Anaara Media
Adnaan Ahmad has been a user experience designer and developer for many years and has served as UXD consultant, system engineer and creative director for many Government and private sector clientele. Mr. Ahmad has a Bachelor’s degree in Imaging and Digital Arts, Animation and Interactivity, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and has taught various courses on the same subjects. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Interaction and Game Design from Savannah College of Art and Design and working for Anaara Media on Data Visualization software for the US Department of Energy.
Huyen Tue Dao, Universal Mind
Huyen Tue Dao is a Flex developer living in the DC Metro Area. She also have worked with .NET, C/C++, SQL, and has a bit of a crush of Perl. After taking a C++ class just to satisfy a technical requirement in high school, Huyen discovered that she really loves programming. A gamer as well as a code monkey, she decided to study Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland with goals of becoming a game developer. Somewhere in between her B.S. and her M.S., she phased into the idea of working for a government contractor, as many engineering students in the DC Area do. By chance, she took a job doing web development R&D for the NASDAQ Stock Market just to pay the bills and discovered that she really loves web development and in particular RIA and Flex. When she is not staying up late programming, Huyen is staying up late playing video games (PC or console and usually a RTS, FPS, or MMOG), playing poker, trying to write, or checking Twitter for the umpteenth time today.
Terry Ryan, Adobe Systems
Terry Ryan specializes in ColdFusion, Flex and AIR. Previously he was a developer for over 10 years, working at the Wharton School of Business. He’s been blogging about the Flash Platform since 2004 at both Aarrgghh and TerrenceRyan.com. He’s started and contributed to several open source projects on RIAForge.com. When’s he’s not traveling the world touting the advantages of the Flash Platform, you can find him in his home office in Philadelphia, PA, USA.
Christian Saylor, Universal Mind
Christian’s goal as a designer is to engage the user on a personal level independent of medium. To be able to meet them where they’re at and in a way that’s comfortable for them; be it in a mobile or embedded device, a car, a website, or even a well designed t-shirt! Design is all around us. It consumes and often inspires change. It is Christian’s goal to make that message usable, simple and engaging! With over 13 years in the design community his core focus to bridge that gap between functionality and aesthetics and deliver to the client forward thinking, beautiful, engaging experiences.
Chris Scott, Universal Mind
Chris Scott is an Enterprise Software Consultant in the Philadelphia area with over ten years of Java, ColdFusion, ActionScript and Flex experience as well as a strong interest in open source sortware. Chris is the lead developer of the Swiz Framework and the ColdSpring Framework, including the first Aspect Oriented Programming framework for ColdFusion.
Carl Smith, nGen Works
Carl Smith is a founding member of nGen Works, a design and interface development team that has been building some of the world’s finest hand-crafted websites since 2003. Carl has made a name for himself in the web world by always defending the needs and wants of the end-user. He has been privileged to lead teams that have been awarded the New York Art Directors Award For Interactive Development, The Hospitality Industry’s Best of Show Award, two National C.A.S.E. awards for Educational Web Development and has also been featured in Kelly Goto’s best selling book Web Redesign: Workflow That Works. Carl spends most of his free time complaining about sites that say “click here,” chasing his daughters, and praying they never make Spiderman 4.
Jeff Tapper, Digital Primates
Jeff is a senior consultant at Digital Primates, who has over a decade of experience developing Internet applications for a myriad of clients, including Major League Baseball, CBS, Toys “R” Us, IBM, Dow Jones, American Express, and Morgan Stanley. As an instructor, he is certified to teach all of Adobe’’s courses on Flex, ColdFusion, Flash and AIR development. He has been working with Flex since the earliest alphas of Flex 1.0. Jeff has authored several books, including Adobe Flex 4: Training from the Source and Breaking Out of the Browser with Adobe AIR.
Dave Watts, Fig Leaf Software
Dave founded Fig Leaf Software with Steve Drucker in 1992, and shares Steve’s vision of Fig Leaf Software as a world-class development and training company. As Chief Technology Officer, Dave Watts drives the technology vision and enhances Fig Leaf’s competitive edge by developing the company’s best practices, covering server configuration, performance tuning, application development, and application deployment. Recognized as a leading technology expert by Google and Adobe, Dave has been developing browser-based applications with ColdFusion since version 1.5 and implementing Google Enterprise solutions since 2005. He coauthored the best-selling ColdFusion book, The ColdFusion Web Application Construction Kit, first and second editions with Steve Drucker and Ben Forta. Along with Steve Drucker, Dave co-founded the first ColdFusion Users’ Group in Washington, DC. He has been the most prolific poster on the CF-Talk mailing list for the last several years, having answered several thousand questions on ColdFusion and related topics. He regularly speaks at industry events, such as Adobe MAX, and writes articles for various trade publications. As one of the first Adobe certified instructors, Dave combines exceptional teaching with course development. He received a perfect score on his ColdFusion MX Certification, and regularly pursues new certifications in other areas of interest. Dave was the second person ever to be Certified by Google, Inc. as a Google Enterprise Professional Certified Trainer for the Google Search Appliance, Google Mini and Google Apps. When not developing or teaching for Fig Leaf Software, Dave enjoys playing with new gadgets and technologies. In addition, he has served as an expert witness on IT and internet issues in Maryland’s civil court system.
