Announcing a First-of-its-kind “Hands On” Emerging Tech Series
Universal Mind is excited to launch a first of its kind tech series Meetup at our Grand Rapids office, the Hands-on Emerging Tech Series. Each event focuses on creating a space where attendees can personally experience a new, emerging technology, and can experience it hands-on. This includes virtual reality, augmented reality, connected devices, autonomous cars, and other emerging technologies. The ability to interact with these technologies can transform the user’s perception of it, tapping into a new realm of possibilities and altering pre-existing mindsets and perceptions.
“We believe that people only truly begin to personally understand the import of emerging technology and its potential applications when they experience it first-hand. With this event, product creators and managers will have the opportunity to dialogue about how VR and AR can apply to their businesses, while creatives and technologists will spark conversations about how to better design for these new experiences” -Joe Salowitz, Event Organizer, and Senior Architect at Universal Mind.
Every day, we’re interacting with more and more digital technology – our laptops, tablets, mobile devices, smart watches – and while organizations are embracing the chance to interact with their customers across these touch points, you may not get the opportunity to understand these emerging technologies and how they can best serve you. Now is your chance!
The first event, “Hands-on: VR & AR Demo Night,” is Thursday, March 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Universal Mind’s Grand Rapids office, 125 Ottawa Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Participants will demo virtual reality and augmented reality equipment from HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Microsoft Hololens, and more. Local Grand Rapids creators, designers, product builders, creatives, and business people will be available for demos and great dialogue.
“This event is a chance for people to personally experience new technologies they may otherwise not be able to experience hands-on. The whole point is that people walk away from the night with a refreshed perspective about what virtual reality and augmented reality can mean for them, their business, their product, or their trade,” says Salowitz.
You can RSVP for this event here. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
