A Fresh Look for www.universalmind.com
We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand new website! Our team has been working hard over the last several months to give you an experience defined by what we do: people solving problems for people. We believe that by improving life’s experiences through technology, we can achieve a better world for ourselves, our clients, and our communities. This website offers a taste of the value that we know digital experiences bring to our clients.
Take a look around. You’ll notice more content, better navigation, slick photos, and yes, a new look and feel that is consistent with who we are and what we love to do. The new website is the result of the UM team coming together to create the best of the best from all angles of the project.
From a technical perspective, we wanted to move to a Continuous Delivery flow for our website, instead of juggling multiple environments with a traditional CMS. To accomplish this, we integrated several tools with our static site to allow us to have a quality author and editor experience, powerful real-time search, extremely fast response time, and automated deployments across multiple environments. In the upcoming weeks, we’ll be posting more information on how we brought these technologies together to create our new site.
As we began to design the new online experience, we took a hard look at what we currently had on the site - what was working well and what wasn’t. We didn’t do this in a vacuum, however. Instead, we took the core principles of human-centered design and looked both internally to our employees as well as externally to some of our trusted clients for feedback as we began to design, build, and mold the new visual language. This new language needed to reinforce the connectedness of our team as well as the value that this connectedness brings to our clients, and in turn to our clients’ customers.
You’ll notice the use of geometric shapes throughout the experience. The simplicity of a single line or even the complexities of many lines and shapes intersecting tell a story of connection. Each piece connecting to the whole to better articulate a point or serve a purpose. Ultimately, these shapes become a reflection of our multi-discipline approach and how we serve one another in order to better serve our clients and their experiences with us and the products we craft. It’s also reflected in the non-visual language we use to tell the story of who we are and what we do.
It wasn’t necessarily our intention to simply design an experience that was completely different from our competition. Instead, we focused on telling our own unique story through words, subtleties of color, typography, and form. That story naturally became more than a reflection of the trends of the moment, but rather an authentic expression of who we are.
Based on internal and external feedback, and after several design iterations, we’re very proud of the story we’re telling through the vehicles of design and technology. The new site features several areas for you to get acquainted with what we do here at Universal Mind. We create digital experiences that drive value, and we like to practice what we preach. Universal Mind is a place where you can learn about our work, connect with us, and hear about all our thoughts (we have a lot of them) on our blog. And if there’s something you want to know about that you can’t find, let us know.
While we’re incredibly pleased with where the site is now, we view our site as a living, breathing organism, which will continue to grow and shift over time. We have exciting plans in store for our website, with a ton of great new content, all aimed at helping you get value out of your digital initiatives. Through all this change, one thing always remains - we’re here because we love helping businesses thrive. This idea is the core of who we are and what we do. Regardless of how we look, and what new changes we’re rolling out, you can always count on us to work with you to create a transformational digital experience.
